Congratulations to the soccer team on their first win of the season yesterday against Calvary Chapel Academy. Jeromy Andrade and George Cook led the team to a 6-2 win, with Jeromy scoring 5 of the 6 goals. Freshman goalkeeper Noah Sinatra also played a big role, stopping numerous shots on net.
The volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 3-0 win over Avon. It was a convincing win with scores of 25-10, 25-16, and 25-15. Jade Watts, Mairiah Leines, and Becca Cooke led the team with a total of 3 blocks and 9 kills. Jenna Grande and Saylor Molineaux also combined for 5 kills. Nicole Silva had an excellent serving game, going 22-23 with 12 aces. The team will host Upper Cape tomorrow afternoon.
The JV1 volleyball team lost a tight 2-1 match to Avon yesterday. The team fought point for point in the final set. Carly Shawkey, Alexis Burke, and Rory Sneyd led the team in serving and Gianna Cook had a solid game offensively.
The boys cross country team improved to 2-0 on the season with a win over Holbrook yesterday. Ryan Glynn remains undefeated after finishing 1st overall. Kyle Potts finished 2nd, only 2 seconds behind, while Matt McAndrew, Chandler McQueeney, and Sean Sidoti helped round out a top 5 sweep.
The golf team lost to Southeastern yesterday 7-2. John Jenkins won his match and Matt Taylor and Hayden Potts teamed up to score the team’s 2nd point.
The athletic department is looking for several students interested in helping out at athletic events for the fall season. These are paid positions. Any interested student should see Mr. Marani in room 206.
