Sports Announcements 10/7/19
1. The varsity football team defeated Cape Tech 45-8 on Saturday. Brian McClain led the team with 3 rushing touchdowns and 2 passing touchdowns. Sean McGuirk had a touchdown reception and an interception return for a touchdown. Mac Johnson had a touchdown reception. Blake Coleman, Kyle Stec, and Matt Richards all ran the ball well for the Vikings. Bobby Fettig led the team with 4 receptions.
2. The golf team played to a 4 1/2 - 4 1/2 tie against Upper Cape. Bob Kovalski led the team with his strongest game of the year shooting a 41 to win his match. Logan Desmond won his match while Harrison Moore tied his. The team's record moves to 9-3-1.
3. The varsity soccer team beat Norfolk Aggie on Friday 4-1. Emmanuel Osorio got his second hat trick of the season and Ryder Nilson added 1. Isaiah Pina played well for the Vikings. They improve their record to 5-4-2.
4. The JV2 Volleyball team fell in the first set against a solid serving Southeastern team. However, in a complete turnaround in the second game, behind the strong serving of McKennzie Jepsen, Gabby Prado, Cassie Nigro and Zoey Bradshaw, the Vikings took control. After winning the second set, the Vikings were in a battle back and forth in the third, eventually losing the final points of the set, 23-25. Strong back row passing from Aly Traynor and Nora Walsh set up the attack 10 times over the match.
5. The JV football team hosts Blue Hills today at 3:30.
6. There will be no practice today for varsity golf only.
