9.5.19 Announcements

Today's Lunch is Chicken Fajita with rice and corn.  All meals served with Milk, Fruit.

All student drivers are reminded that due to programming changes at First Baptist Church they will no longer be allowing South Shore students to park in their lot. We expect that you abide by their needs.

This Friday will be our first theme Friday of the school year. Please join us in wearing your Patriot's gear. 

There will be a meeting today after school in room 203 for anyone interested in competing on the robotics team this upcoming year.  The team builds and competes in several competitions over the upcoming year.  If you have any questions about the team or cannot make the meeting please speak with or email Mr. Shaw  in room 203 or Mr. Gentile in MET #1. 

The Drama Club is starting soon, and is looking for new members!
We are looking for set designers and builders, stage hands, lighting and sound technicians, actors as well as costume and make up artists.  The first meeting of the Drama Club will be Wednesday, September 11th, right after school, 2:30pm, in the Lecture Hal

The first National Honor Society meeting of the year will be held on Thursday, September 12th, in room 207.

The GSA/Equality Club is a student-led organization. Their mission is to work towards a more accepting environment for all people, regardless of how you identify, through education, support, social action, and advocacy.”  Be a part of today's civil rights movement, join us for the first GSA meeting Tuesday, September 24th at 230 in the graphics shop with Mr. Mulkern and Mrs. Rutkowski.

The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, September 14th, from 7-10 PM, so mark your calendars. Tickets will be going on sale soon in the cafe during lunches.

Sports Announcements 9/5/19

1. The varsity volleyball team dropped the first game at Avon 25-18 Wednesday night before rallying to win the next three games and the match. Audrey Manning  and Amy Smalley played well on defense, while Evelyn McCann, Maria Pantiukhin and Lexi Adams took charge on offense. McCann led the Vikings with 9 kills, and Pantiukhin and Adams added 6 and 4 respectively. Freshmen Gemma Geisler went 8 for 9 on the serving line, with two aces, and sophomore Grace McCarthy went 11 for 13 with one ace. They take on Holbrook at home on Friday. 

2. The JV1 volleyball team defeated Avon 3-0 to open up their season. Christina Klien and Amya Doyle served well for the Vikings. 

3. The varsity soccer team tied with Avon 1-1. The Vikings played a strong second half lead by Bobby Barry’s defense and Alex Connors passing. Dagim Bahros scored the goal for the Vikings. They host Holbrook on Friday. 

4. The golf team opened their season with a 7 - 2 victory over Upper Cape. Brenden Connolly led the way with an 8 - 1 win over his opponent.  Alec Moules, Robert Kovalski and Cole Sheehan also posted wins. Colby Avila and Logan Desmond each tied their matches. They host Norfolk Aggie today at 3:00. 2:00 dismissal.
