9.18.19 Announcements

Today's Lunch: Creamy Mac & Cheese!  The Salad Bar will be closed for the week. If a student would like to order a pre-made salad please stop by the kitchen early in the day. 

Drama Club: Anyone wishing to try out for this season's production, AUDITIONS will be today in the Lecture Hall right after school. If you have questions, see Mr. Bova in room 101.

All students are reminded that they should be wearing their IDs when not in the shop. If you have lost your ID, maybe you chose to throw it away in haste or were not here on picture day please stop by the Main Office and see Mrs. Litchfield for a temporary ID. Students without IDs will be receiving an hour of detention.

South Shore Driving Academy will be running the classroom portion of driver's ed here at SST from Tuesday, October 8-Monday, November 4th. 2:30pm-5:45pm. Mon, Tues and Thurs's. 
They will not be having class on Columbus Day.  Anyone interested can sign up directly with the South Shore Driving Academy in Hanson.


The GSA/Equality Club is a student-led organization. Their mission is to work towards a more accepting environment for all people, regardless of how you identify, through education, support, social action, and advocacy.”  Be a part of today's civil rights movement, join us for the first GSA meeting Tuesday, September 24th at 230 in the graphics shop with Mr. Mulkern and Mrs. Rutkowski.

Sports Announcements 9/18/19

1. The varsity volleyball team improved to 2-0 in league play after a thrilling match against Old Colony that came down to the final two points of the fifth and final game.  The Vikings took the first set 25-22, but lost the next two. They were down in the 4th game, but Aly Pike’s 7 point serving streak kept the Vikings’ hopes alive. The girls held strong, taking the final set 15-13. Hannah Towle and Audrey Manning played stellar defense and served 90 percent. Gemma Geisler went 10 for 10 serving, Amy Smalley went 10 for 11, and Grace McCarthy went 16 for 18 with three aces. Mandy Howe played well in the setter position. 

2. The JV1 volleyball team got a solid 2-1 win against Old Colony. During the first set,  it was all about strong serving winning 25-8. After dropping the 2nd set, the Vikings took the 3rd set behind strong team play and never quit attitude winning 25-23. Everyone contributed and played well.  

3. Kelsey Deschamps took charge at the end of the first JV2 volleyball game against Old Colony and served 6 in a row to win the set.  Strong serving by Rose Earner and McKennzie Jepsen and great saves by Mari Demaggio contributed to winning the match.  The Vikings improved their record to 2-1.  

4. The cross country team defeated Cape Tech 44-19. Sean Sidoti finished 1st overall with Max Fisher (3rd), Sean LoPorto (4th), and Jaiden Rogers (5th) rounding out the top 5. 


5. The varsity soccer team hosts Norfolk Aggie today at 3:30.
