9.11.19 Announcements

Today's Lunch is Turkey or Roastbeef sub .  All meals served with Milk, Fruit.

South Shore Driving Academy will be running the classroom portion of driver's ed here at SST from Tuesday, October 8-Monday, November 4th. 2:30pm-5:45pm. Mon, Tues and Thurs's. 
They will not be having class on Columbus Day.  Anyone interested can sign up directly with the South Shore Driving Academy in Hanson.


All student drivers are reminded that due to programming changes at First Baptist Church they will no longer be allowing South Shore students to park in their lot. We expect that you abide by their needs.

Robotics team will be meeting after school tomorrow in room 203, new members are welcome.  If you cannot make it or are interested in learning more about the robotics team and the competitions please speak with Mr Shaw or Mr Gentile.

The 1st National Honor Society meeting of the year will be held on Thursday in room 207.

The first meeting of the yearbook committee will be held on Thursday after school with Mr Culp in the Graphics Shop. All students are welcome.

The first meeting of the Chess Club will be next Tuesday, September 17, after school in the CCC.  All students are welcome to drop in any Tuesday afternoon. No previous experience required.  Check or checkmate it out!


The Drama Club is starting soon, and is looking for new members!
We are looking for set designers and builders, stage hands, lighting and sound technicians, actors as well as costume and make-up artists.  The first meeting of the Drama Club will be Wednesday, right after school, 2:30pm, in the Lecture Hal

The GSA/Equality Club is a student-led organization. Their mission is to work towards a more accepting environment for all people, regardless of how you identify, through education, support, social action, and advocacy.”  Be a part of today's civil rights movement, join us for the first GSA meeting Tuesday, September 24th at 230 in the graphics shop with Mr. Mulkern and Mrs. Rutkowski.

The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, from 7-10 PM, Tickets are on sale during lunches and you can get forms to take a non-SST student from Mrs. Mariani in the front office. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

If you are a student who is believes you would make an excellent team captain for a winter sport please reach out to your coach and let them know of your interest. Remember there are meeting and behavorial requirements to be a SST Captain.

Sports Announcements 9/11/19

1. The golf team beat Southeastern 5 1/2 - 3 1/2. Colby Avila shot a 32 to lead the Vikings. Brenden Connolly, Logan Desmond and Robert Kovalski each won their match. 
2. The varsity volleyball team lost to Abington in a close 3-1 match Tuesday night. Abington jumped out to a two game lead, but the Vikings came out strong in the third, winning 25-13. The fourth game started off close, but the Green Wave pulled ahead for the 25-18 win. Gemma Geisler and Hannah Towle were both a perfect 6-6 on the serving line, while Audrey Manning went 13 for 15 and Grace McCarthy went 11 for 12 with an ace. Maria Pantiukhin and Brianna Ruffin combined for 13 blocks. The loss puts the Vikings 1-2 on the season. They play at home on Thursday against Norfolk Aggie. 

JV1 dropped its first match of the season. The Vikings played a solid game dropping the first set then rallied to win the 2nd set 26-24. Eventually lost the 3rd set 25-20. Jaqueline Halpin, Bridget Kinsella and Ayla Ludlow all played well. 

3. The JV2 Volleyball team won their first game of the season behind the strong serving of McKennzie Jepsen, Zoey Bradshaw, Kelsey Deschamps and Ally Traynor.
