10.2.19 Announcements

Today's Lunch: American Chop Suey. All lunches are served with milk, vegetable, and choice of fruit.

A reminder to all sophomores that Josten Rings will be in lunches today for ordering.

Due to Mrs. Mathews absent last Friday, we will accept N.H.S. applications up to the close of school on today.

Everyone is invited to wear PINK on Friday as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Drama Club actors and actresses will meet today after school in the Lecture Hall. Please bring your scripts.

The robotics club will meet tomorrow after school at 2:30pm in rm 203. New members are always welcomed. Please see Mr. Shaw or Mr. Gentile with questions. 

The first meeting of SST's Music Club will be held on tomorrow at 2:30pm in room 207 with Mrs. Bateman.  All are welcome. 

PSATs will be offered here at SST on Wednesday, October 16th. Cost is $16 and you can sign up starting today in the Student Services Suite. There is a limited number of tests and sign-ups are on a first-come/first-serve basis.

Student Parking: The student parking lot is now full. Any student wishing to get a parking spot will be placed on a waiting list. A reminder that poor attendance including absences, tardies, and dismissals can result in the loss of parking privileges.

Sports Announcements 10/2/19

1. The golf team avenged its loss earlier in the season to Old Colony by beating them 7 - 2. Brenden Connolly led the team shooting a 31 to win his match. Colby Avila, Alec Moules, and Robert Kovalski also won their matches. The team improved to 8 - 3 qualifying them for the state tournament.

2. The varsity volleyball team dropped a close 3-2 match at Norfolk Aggie Tuesday night. Audrey Manning went a perfect 22 for 22 at the serving line with 6 aces and Amy Smalley went 12 for 13 with 1 ace. Brianna Ruffin had two blocks and 9 kills, Lexi Adams had 5 kills, and Evelyn McCann had three. They are now 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the league.

3. The JV1 volleyball team lost a close first game and eventually the match to Norfolk Aggie.  Jackie Halpin played well at the net & Christina Klein served consistently throughout the match.

4. The JV2 volleyball team lost a hard-fought match to Norfolk Aggie 2-1. The Vikings took the first set 25-17, losing the 2nd set 18-25, and eventually dropping the 3rd set and game. The girls all played hard with Rose Earner being the player of the game with her serving and hustle on the court. 


5. The varsity soccer team hosts Cape Tech today at 3:30.
