9.13.19 Announcements

Today's Lunch is French Bread Pizza .  All meals served with Milk, Fruit. The Salad Bar will be closed for the rest of the week. If a student would like to order a pre-made salad please stop by the kitchen early in the day. 

South Shore Driving Academy will be running the classroom portion of driver's ed here at SST from Tuesday, October 8-Monday, November 4th. 2:30pm-5:45pm. Mon, Tues and Thurs's. 
They will not be having class on Columbus Day.  Anyone interested can sign up directly with the South Shore Driving Academy in Hanson.


The first meeting of the Chess Club will be next Tuesday, September 17, after school in the CCC.  All students are welcome to drop in any Tuesday afternoon. No previous experience required.  Check or checkmate it out!

The GSA/Equality Club is a student-led organization. Their mission is to work towards a more accepting environment for all people, regardless of how you identify, through education, support, social action, and advocacy.”  Be a part of today's civil rights movement, join us for the first GSA meeting Tuesday, September 24th at 230 in the graphics shop with Mr. Mulkern and Mrs. Rutkowski.

The Homecoming Dance will be held tomorrow from 7-10 PM. Today is the last day to buy tickets and turn in permission slips. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Sports Announcements 9/13/19

1. The varsity volleyball team got off to a 1-0 start in league play after beating Norfolk Aggie Thursday night. Lexi Adams and Evelyn McCann led the offense with 7 kills apiece. Hannah Towle and Amy Smalley had perfect games at the serving line, while Gemma Geisler went 16/17 with 3 aces, Audrey Manning went 11 for 12 with 3 aces, and Brianna Ruffin went 16/19 with 5 aces. The Vikings are now 2-2 on the season. 

2. The golf team lost a close match to Old Colony 4 - 5. Colby Avila led the team shooting a 41. Alec Moules and Logan Desmond each won their match.

3. The JV1 volleyball lost to Norfolk aggie 2-1. Aveary MacDougall and Jacqueline Halpin played well in the loss.

4. The JV2 volleyball team lost 2-1 to Norfolk Aggie. Mari Demaggio worked hard to set up the offense with consistent setting, but strong serving by Norfolk Aggie wore down the Vikings.

5. The freshman football team lost to Tri-County yesterday. Joe Ercolini had a kick return touchdown and Brayden Webster ran the ball hard for the Vikings. 

6. The JV and varsity soccer teams both travel to Cape Tech today for games starting at 3:30. 1:30 dismissal, 1:40 bus. 

7. The football team hosts Tri-County tomorrow for the homecoming football game at 11:00 AM. 

If you are a student who is believes you would make an excellent team captain for a winter sport please reach out to your coach and let them know of your interest. Remember there are meeting and behavorial requirements to be a SST Captain.
