Putting for Patients: Every day 43 children will be diagnosed with cancer.  Help us find a cure by joining us Saturday here at SSVT from 12-3 for putting 4 patients.  Grab some friends and come have some fun and maybe win some prizes all the while helping to provide the funding to find a cure.  100% of the proceeds will go to The Jimmy Fund.  See you Saturday!

Congratulations to Cassidy Burt of the girls basketball team for being named a Mayflower League All-Star!  Cassidy had a strong season, leading the team in scoring.  She will be playing in the Mayflower League Classic, as well as participating in the 3-point shootout, March 16 at Southeastern.

Ashley Tropea, our athletic trainer, will be holding preseason workouts for softball and baseball players in the gym.  They will be held Tuesday and Thursday the next two weeks.  The focus of these workouts will be arm and shoulder injury prevention.  Students will be responsible to get themselves to and from the workouts.

The Winter Sports Awards Night will be held March 15, at 6 PM in the gym.  All winter athletes and their families are invited.

The countdown to spring sports has begun!  Practices and tryouts begin in less than 3 weeks.  Any students interested in playing a sport need to sign up on the school website.  The sign up link is located on the athletics page.  If you already signed up for a spring sport when registering for fall or winter you do not need to do it again.  Athletes also need to make sure their physicals are up to date in the nurse’s office and complete the concussion test and Impact testing if they haven’t played a sport previously this year.

A reminder that there are no late buses today, the 2:30 bus is the last bus leaving school today. Enjoy your weekend and good luck to our SkillsUSA participants.
