From Your Student Council
The pajama drive is going on all during the month of February.  Help SSVT and the Boston Bruins collect new pajamas and pajama pants.  The collection box is in the main lobby, you can’t miss it.  Our goal is to collect 100 pajamas to distribute to local kids in need.  Thank you for you help.

Hey SSVT, Do you have someone that you appreciate?  Looking for a way to show that person you care?  Student Council will be selling carnations and chocolates for delivery this upcoming Valentine’s Day.   Look for the student council sales table at your lunches.

From the BPA
Please announce that the Blood drive is taking place on February 17th.  Students who are age 16 with parent consent or older can donate.  Please see Mr. Zavatsky in CIT  or a member of BPA for more information or to sign up.

The Prom Committee will meet on Thursday, Feb 16th at 2:30pm in room 113
There will be a GSA meeting this afternoon in Graphics. All are welcome!

Teachers and students the next Senior Seminar is Friday. The seminar is scheduled from 1:30-2:20, all seniors are expected to attend with their instructor.

A reminder that Mr. Bova's 1st block world history class should be in rm 202 at this time.

Sports Announcements

  1. The boys freshmen, JV, and varsity basketball teams lost to Rockland yesterday.  All 3 teams played hard against tough competition.  Jake McLarey played well for the varsity and Phil O’Brien played tough for the JV team.

  1. The varsity girls basketball team won their 2nd straight game yesterday, defeating Rising Tide 48-20.  Cassidy Burt played a strong all-around game, leading the team with 13 points and 5 steals.  Rory Sneyd had her second straight double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Maddie Dixon and Jade Watts also played well.

  1. The JV girls basketball team improved to 6-6 on the season with a 37-28 win over Rising Tide yesterday.  8 players scored in the game, led by Adriana Reis’s 9 points.  Lexi Adams, Hayley Brousseau, and Sam Witunsky all played strong games as well.

  1. Any students interested in playing spring sports need to sign up on the school website.  The sign up link is located on the athletics page.  If you already signed up for a spring sport when registering for fall or winter you do not need to do it again.  Athletes also need to make sure their physicals are up to date in the nurse’s office and complete the concussion test and Impact testing if they haven’t played a sport previously this year.
